SquarePlay Games is an up-and-coming indie game developer based in London. We make PC games for Steam and love non-linear, system-based gameplay. Our last game Overcrowd: A Commute released in October 2020 and we’re currently working on a third-person, crafting survival shooter set in zero G.

The role

We are looking for an experienced, UK-based, freelance UI designer to completely overhaul the look and feel of the GUI and HUD in an existing playable alpha build.

This is a flexible, remote role, ideally starting ASAP, for approximately 1-3 weeks, with the potential to extend. Salary is up to £400/day, depending on experience.

About you
Required

Experience as a UI designer in the games industry, ideally on PC games
A great knowledge of what makes a great games UX
Strong experience with Photoshop, Illustrator or similar
Strong graphic design skills; typography, iconography, composition, layout, motion design and a keen eye for colour
Great communication skills

Desirable:

Proficient with Unity and able to implement from design into the final game
Interest or experience in sci fi design
